PM asks RAB to combat drug, militancy


PV Desk : Commending Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for their contribution in eliminating drug and militancy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged countrymen to be aware of such activities.

The premier was addressing the 14th founding anniversary function of RAB at its headquarters in city’s Kurmitola Thursday (May 3).

Referring to a time when militancy tried to surge in country, Sheikh Hasina said, “There are some kinds of a people who incite religious violence to accomplish their evil plans. I want to make it clear that religion has no room for militancy and terrorism. They are enemies of nation, enemies of the country. RAB had a prominent role in the fight against militancy. Their role is commendable.”

Sheikh Hasina urged parents to be careful of their children so that they don’t step into the wrong paths like militancy, terrorism and drugs. On the other hand, he asked teachers to remain alert that students do not stay absent from the class, if stayed to find out why they were absent.

The Premier also said her government has taken enough steps to combat drugs. They’ve earned huge successes by conducting drives against militancy. RAB has to continue its drives against drugs too.
