PV Desk : Chattogram Development Authorities (CDA) on Saturday inaugurated a project to resolve the water stagnation problem of the district during the monsoon seasons.
With the members of engineering core of Bangladesh Army, CDA chairman Abdus Salam inaugurated the project around 10 am by cleaning the Chasma canal in city’s Number 2 Gate area.
Spectra Limited and Karim Group are the contractors for the Tk. 5616 work.
Abdus Salam said the engineering core members of Bangladesh Army will be monitoring the project and in the first phase, drainages of 30 wards from Muradnagar, Bahaddarhat to Bus terminal and Sholasahar Jamia Ahmadia Sunnia Alia Madrasha area to Sholasahar Railbit adjacent areas will be cleaned.
To minimize the impact of waterlogging in monsoon, the drainage cleaning work will continue in the areas more prone to water stagnation, he said.
CDA board member KBM Shahjahan, chief engineer Jasim Uddin, supervising engineer Hasan Bin Shams, Project Director Md Mainuddin and top officials of Army were present there among others.
