PV Desk : Different workers’ organizations in the garment industry today observed the 5th anniversary of Rana Plaza tragic accident that took lives of over 1,100 garment workers.
In observance of the day, leaders and activists of the workers’ organisations and relatives of the victims placed wreaths in front of the Rana Plaza site at Savar in the morning remembering the victims.
They held a protest rally on Dhaka-Aricha highway and demanded capital punishment of Rana Plaza owner Sohel Rana.
Dr Md Enamur Rahman, MP, from Savar also placed wreaths at the site.
A milad mahfil was held at Adhar Chandra High School field in Savar.
On Monday different workers’ bodies lit candles in front of the Rana Plaza site commemorating the victims.
