Judiciary is free: Hasan


PV Desk : Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the grant of bail to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia proved again that the judiciary in the country is free.

“Judicial activities are running independently and the present government does not interfere or make any influence in it,” he told a memorial meeting at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organized the meeting marking the 5th death anniversary of AL former general secretary Abdul Jalil with BSJ Advisor Chitta Ranjan Das in the chair.

Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam, AL Barisal district unit General Secretary Talukder Md Younus, MP, Actress Farzana Amin Natun and BSJ General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana, among others, spoke.

Hasan Mahmud said the present government has zero tolerance policy against any sorts of corruption.

He urged the BNP to take part in the next general election if they have faith in democracy.
