PV Sports Desk : Sri Lanka made a strong comeback as they secured their final spot in the triangular series with an overwhelming ten- wicket victory over Bangladesh in the 6th ODI held on Thursday at Sher-e- Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
The final match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held on Saturday (January 27) at the same venue.
With this win, Sri Lanka secured nine points from two wins while Bangladesh, despite their first defeat in the series, remained at top of the table with 15 points from three wins. Bottom-ranked Zimbabwe have four points from one win, after the end of their league phase engagements.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 83-run set by Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, rode on a solid opening stand by Danushka Gunathilaka and Upul Tharanga, comfortably chasing down the victory target in only 11.5 overs.
The left handed Sri Lankan opener Tharanga scored 37-ball off 39 laced with one boundary and three over boundaries while Gunathilaka scored run-a- ball 35 studded with three boundaries and two over boundaries.
Suranga Lakmal of Sri Lanka was named the player of the match for his magnificent bowing display.
