PV Desk : Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said there is no scope to go beyond the constitution for a polls-time government.
“BNP can give a framework for an election-time government, but there is no scope to go beyond constitution,” he told a discussion of Swadhinata Parishad (SP) in Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) auditorium.
Parishad’s advisor Shafiqul Bahar Majumder Tipu chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, MP, Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Mahmud, AL leader Balaram Poddar, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana and organisation’s General Secretary Shahdat Hossain Tayel.
Hasan, also an AL spokesman, said BNP has turned into a ‘toothless venomous snake’ after the party failed to foil the previous parliament election. “The venomous teeth of BNP got broken when they were out to thwart the previous Jatiya Sangsad election,” he added.
