PV Desk : Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed yesterday said Bangladesh has achieved a dignified position in the past 9 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Bangladesh will turn into a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041,” he told a seminar on “Deshranta Sheikh Hasinar Netritte Unnyan O Samraddhir Noy Bhachar” at the Engineers, Institution of Bangladesh (EIB) here.
Publicity and Publication Sub-Committee of Awami League (AL) organized the seminar.
President of Bangladesh Economic Association Dr Abul Barakat, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, MP and Economist Dr Jahangir Alam, among others, addressed the seminar with Chairman of Publicity and Publication Sub-Committee of Awami League (AL) HT Imam in the chair.
Dr Shamsul Alam presented the keynote paper at the seminar.
Tofail said the country has witnessed a good progress in the last two years due to prevalence of political stability.
Bangladesh witnessed a remarkable progress in all indicators of economy as a result of sincere and farsighted leadership of the Awami government, he added.
The minister urged leaders and activists of AL to highlight different milestone progresses in all development sectors before the people of the country.
