Martuza Ahmed made Chief Information Commissioner


PV Desk : The government has appointed Martuza Ahmed, former information secretary, as the chief information commissioner (CIC).

President M Abdul Hamid made the appointment as per the article 15 (1) of the Right to Information Act-2009, said an official release here today.

The Ministry of Information has issued a gazette in this regard yesterday.

Martuza, a career civil servant, replaced Prof M Golam Rahman.

The newly appointed chief information commissioner joined his new office today. Information Commissioners — Nepal Chandra Sarker and Prof Dr Khurshida Begum Sayeed — received the new CIC with a bouquet.
