PV Desk : Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan yesterday said the country is moving forward in the economic field and it has now become a lower middle income country.
“Now, there is political stability in the country and it’s moving forward economically…There is no shortage of food as well as no problem of electricity and Bangladesh is now a lower middle income country,” he said, speaking at an inaugural function in city’s Basundhara International Convention Center here.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated the marketing of CNG-run three-wheel auto-rickshaws.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Ifad Group Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu and TVS Motor Company Senior Vice President (International Business) Sri R Dilip, among others, addressed the inaugural function, said an official release.
Shajahan Khan said the country is going forward in every sector under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He urged the countrymen to remain alert against the culprits who want to create an unstable situation in country by killing people.
Ifad Motors Limited is marketing the CNG-run three-wheel auto-rickshaws produced by Indian TVS Motor Company, it added.
