SC stays HC order against 4G till Jan 14


PV Technology Desk : The apex court has stayed till January 14 a High Court order that halted the circular issued by BTRC inviting applications for auctioning 4G licensing guideline and wave.
The Chamber Judge the Appellate Division, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed the order on Thursday afternoon (January 11) following a writ filed by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) soon after the HC slapped the halt on its circular.
The Chamber Judge also sent the matter to Appellate Division full bench for further hearing.
On Thursday morning (Jan 11), An HC Bench of Justices Naima Haider and Zafar Ahmed stayed the BTRC circular for 4G auctioning.
Earlier, on December 4 in 2017, BTRC invited applications for the licence of the fourth generation (4G) mobile phone services in the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the revised guidelines for the 4G network in November 2016.
