Aparnacharan School reunion begins tomorrow


PV Desk : A two-day reunion programme of Aparnacharan City Corporation Girls High School and College will begin in the port city on Friday marking its 90th founding anniversary.
Around 1500 students will attend the two-day programme.
The two-day programme includes – discussion meeting, rally, reception, commemoration event and cultural function.
Chittagong City Corporation mayor A J M Nasir Uddin will inaugurate the programme at the school premise in the morning.
A rally will be brought out from the school.
Professor Khaleda Mamun, former chairman of Bangla Department in Chittagong University and also the former student of the school will inaugurate the second day’s programme at Swaronika Community Centre at Love Lane of the city.
Professor Joynab Begum, convener of school’s former students’ council, said that all the preparations for the two-day programme have been completed.
The school was established in 1927.
The school is named after prominent philanthropist Ray Bahadur Aparnacharan Dey.
The first female anti-British revolutionist martyr of Chittagong district, Pritilata Waddedar, was appointed as headmistress in the school for some years.
The school has a great contribution in spreading education among woman in Chittagong.
