PV Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM) to 182 policemen in recognition for their bravery, service and competence in preventing crimes in 2017.
The premier honored the police personnel after inaugurating the Police Week-2018 in Rajarbagh Police Lines around 11:00am Monday (January 8).
After country’s independence, maximum policemen have been accorded with the two honorary awards this year for their outstanding performance in fighting crime, drug, terrorism and militancy.
PM Hasina also received respect from police parade while inaugurating the five-day long Police Week with the motto of preventing drug and militancy.
A total of 106 police officials were given the honour for their roles in anti-militancy operations and 42 others as they suffered severe injuries during the operations.
Of them, 30 have received the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) Bravery and 28 got the BPM-Service. Of the rests 71 got the President Police Medal (PPM) Bravery and 53 got the PPM-Service for their excellent services in 2017.
