Sending of legal notice would not yield any result: Hasan

PV Desk : Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, in an oblique reference to Begum Khaleda Zia, today said she would have to face investigation into and trail for amassing illegal assets in different countries, including Saudi Arabia.

“Sending of a legal notice mentioning that Zia family has no illegal wealth abroad would not yield any result,” he said addressing a rally and human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organized the rally and human chain demanding arrest of Khaleda Zia over alleged money laundering.

General Secretary of the organization Arun Sarker Rana presided over the rally while AL leader Advocate Baloram Poddar, Manoranjan Ghoshal of Shwadhin Bangla Betar and Bangabandhu Shwadhinata Parishad leader Jakir Ahmed were present on the occasion, among others.

Former Environment and Forest Minister Hasan Mahmud said they (BNP) started hatching new conspiracies to impede the ongoing trial process against Khaleda Zia over graft cases.
