24, 25 Feb SSC exams to be shifted for DNCC polls

PV Desk : The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations on February 24 and 25 will be rescheduled for the mayoral by-polls in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Election Commission (EC) with officials of the education ministry and education boards on Tuesday (December 26).
Chairmen and controllers of examinations of the boards for secondary and higher secondary education, madrasa and technical education joined the meeting at the EC Secretariat building in the city.
After the meeting, the EC’s Acting Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed told the media that the officials of the education ministry and education boards agreed to reschedule the two papers of the SSC examinations for the polls. They said that they will set the new dates after the polls schedule is announced, he added.
He further said that the polls will be held in the last week of February, while the polls schedule will be announced in the second week of January.
Alongside the mayoral by-polls, the voters of 36 new wards of the DNCC and the DSCC (Dhaka South City Corporation) will also cast their franchise to elect councilors in the newly included wards.
