Bangladesh, Turkey to work together on Rohingya issue


PV Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh and Turkey will continue to work in earnest to resolve Rohingya crisis.
The Premier made the remark while delivering a joint statement with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim held at Prime Minister’s office in Dhaka on Tuesday (December 19).
Earlier in the day, the two prime ministers sat in a one-on-one meeting at Shimul Hall of the Ganabhaban.
The Prime Minister said, “In the discussion, I have stated our commitment to work sincerely on the Rohingya issue as well as bilateral and international issues which are of interest to both countries, and continue to help each other.”
Sheikh Hasina thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his continual support on Bangladesh and Rohingyas.
After their one-on-one meeting, Sheikh Hasina and Binali Yildirim held a bilateral meeting at the Chameli Hall. Delegation members of the two countries also attended the meeting.
After the one-on-one meeting and the bilateral meeting, two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were signed between the two countries.
