PV Desk : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is now visiting Cambodia, said that her country could work as a bridge between the East and the West nations.
She made the remark while talking to Norodom Ranariddh, former Cambodian prime minister also Cambodian royal party Funcinpec president, during a courtesy call Tuesday (December 5).
Sheikh Hasina underscored the need for boosting connectivity and cooperation among the Asian countries for the interest of the people of this region.
After the meeting, PM’s Additional Press Secretary M Nazrul Islam briefed reporters.
“Bangladesh could work as a bridge between the East and West. That’s why we’ve taken an initiative to build a new international airport near Dhaka,” said the prime minister as quoted by Nazrul.
She said the Cox’s Bazar Airport will be turned into an international airport to increase connectivity between Bangladesh and southeast Asian nations.
