PV Desk : The High Court (HC) today issued a rule asking as to why it shall not pass order to declare ‘Joy Bangla’ as national slogan.
“A High Court division bench comprising Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition in this regard,” senior lawyer Dr Bashir Ahmed, who filed the writ, told.
The court ordered cabinet secretary, law secretary and education secretary to submit their reply on the rule within next 72 hours. The matter will again come up for hearing before the High Court bench next Sunday.
“The whole nation became united under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman chanting ‘Joy Bangla’ slogan. This slogan inspired the nation to jump into the War of Liberation and free the motherland from the Pakistani occupation army and their local collaborators,” Dr Bashir said.
