Annisul laid to rest


Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq was buried at the Banani graveyard in the city in the evening on Saturday (December 02).

He was buried at about 5:20 pm beside the grave of his mother and the grave of son Mohammad Sharful Haq.

Annisul’s wife Rubana Huq, son Navidul Huq, two daughters- Wamiq Umaira Huq and Tanisha Fariamaan Huq, younger brother and Chief of Bangladesh Army General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq and other relatives were present during the burial.

Before the burial, Annisul Huq’s namaz-e-janaza was held the Army Stadium after Asr prayers.

Ministers, leaders of different political parties, noted citizens, high officials, officials of the DNCC and the DSCC and city dwellers joined the namaz-e-janaza. Among them, finance minister AMA Muhith, Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haq, commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Asaduzzaman Mia.

The body of Annisul Huq was taken to the Army Stadium from his Banani residence in the afternoon. The people of all walks of lives paid their last respect to the mayor before the namaz-e-janaza. His body was covered with national flag and the flag of DNCC.

President’s military secretary Maj Gen Sarwar Hossain on behalf of the president paid respect to Annisul at about 3:10 pm. At the time, Prime Minister’s military secretary Mohammad Joynul Abedin on behalf of the PM also paid homage to the deceased mayor.
