Russian air strike death toll rises to 53 in Syria


PV Desk : Russian air strikes in the eastern regions of Syria killed at least 53 people, including 21 children. Western media identified the casualties as civilians of Al-Shafah village.
The air strikes were launched in the stronghold of Islamic State (IS) early on Sunday (November 26).
A UK-based organization Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Agency (SOHR) said on Monday (November 27) that strikes were aimed at residential buildings of the village.
Head of SOHR Rami Abdel Rahman said cadavers became visible after removal of debris.
Russian military is fighting for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for a long-time in the civil war-ravaged Syria.
On the contrary, Western alliance, led by United States, is fighting for the rebels of Bashar al-Assad.
Both of the groups claim to be fighting for a common cause that is to fight against IS.
