PV Desk : Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali made the Rohingya repatriation treaty public amid discussion and criticism.
The Foreign Minister handed over the copy of the treaty to reporters in a formal press conference held in the Foreign Ministry on Saturday (Nov 25).
He said that, “Those who are in power care about the interest of others. The main objective of the interest is to send Rohingyas back to their homeland.”
The Minister said the deadline of the repatriation process has not been fixed yet. However, Myanmar wants to involve UN agency UNHCR (Refugee Agency) in the process.
The process will begin within two months. After signing the treaty (November 23), the joint working group will be formed in three weeks, the minister added.
