PV Sports Desk : Chittagong Vikings picked themselves up from the bottom position in the points table, beating Sylhet Sixers by 40 runs in their first game at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, the team’s home venue. Sikandar Raza’s superb hitting helped Chittagong to their mammoth 211 for 5, which was the highest total in this season of the BPL.
Raza slammed six sixes and nine fours in his 45-ball 95. He put on 68 runs for the fifth wicket with Najibullah Zadran after having added 73 runs for the fourth wicket with Stiaan van Zyl. All of this was courtesy Luke Ronchi’s cameo at the top, that gave the hosts a flying start.
Andre Fletcher – who scored 71 – threatened Chittagong till the 14th over but once he fell, the rest collapsed as well. Sylhet slipped from 123 for one to 144 for 7 in less than four overs, eventually finishing on 171 for 8, ESPNCricinfo reports.
