PV Desk : Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Decep Akdad has urged the global community to put pressure on the Myanmar government to take back their citizens from Bangladesh as soon as possible.
“The World community should be united against the atrocities carried out by the security forces of Myanmar,” he told a press conference in Ankara last night (Tuesday) after holding a meeting with Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, an official release said here today.
The Turkish deputy prime minister condemned the persecution of Rohingya people in their homeland and said Bangladesh has set an rare example by sheltering over 10 lakh Rohingyas.
Bangladesh deserves special appreciation for showing its extraordinary humanity towards the Rohingya people, he added.
Maya told the Turkish leader that Bangladesh has given shelter to the Rohingya people on humanitarian grounds.
“We seek support of the global community to end the Rohingya problem as it has already created different sorts of problems, including financial and social ones,” he said.
