PV Desk : A three-day international tourism fair titled “US-Bangla Airlines Chittagong Travel Mart 2017” was inaugurated in the port city today.
Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the three-day-long fair as chief guest at the Peninsula hotel in the port city this noon.
Speaking on the function the city mayor lauded the role of private sectors to boost tourism by properly packaging religion, eco-tourism and community-based products.
Supported by Tourism Malaysia and US Bangla Airlines, some 20 exhibitors from home and abroad, including airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, amusement parks and related service providers are displaying products and services at 25 stalls in the fair organized by the Bangladesh Monitor, a travel publication.
The fair offers special discounts on air tickets, hotel rooms, tour packages and other products and services, between 10am and 8pm.
Editor of the Bangladesh Monitor, Kazi Wahidul Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony while, Dr Mohammad Nasir Uddin, CEO, Bangladesh Tourism Board and additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Tourism, Muslim Uddin, among others, was present on the occasion.
