Mohiuddin taken to Dhaka for treatment

PV Desk : Veteran Awami League leader ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury has been brought to Dhaka after he was hospitalised in Chittagong,Agencies report.
The three-time mayor of Chittagong had long been suffering from ailments related to heart and kidneys and was admitted to Chittagong’s Max Hospital on Saturday last.
“He had gone through a bypass surgery and has kidney-related complications,” said Dr Md Liakat Ali Khan, managing director of the hospital.
The helicopter carrying him flew for Dhaka yesterday afternoon, his secretary Mohammad Osman has told the media.
The 74-year-old politician will be admitted to Dhaka’s Square Hospital, he said.
Chittagong Awami League General Secretary and current mayor of the port city, AJM Nasir Uddin, visited Mohiuddin at the hospital yesterday morning.
Mohiuddin addressed a function of Chittagong Jubo League on Saturday last despite his illness. He is well-known for his role in the Chittagong unit of the ruling Awami League and local movements of the port city.
