Robbers kill 3 in Faridpur


PV Desk : Three people have been killed and another two have been injured by robbers in Faridpur’s Charbhadrasan and Sadarpur Upazilas.

The incidents occurred in Charbhadrasan’s Mridhadangi village and Sadarpur’s Munshir Chor area, police said.

The dead have been identified as Md Sajjad Mridha, 30, and his cousin Sentu Mridha, 28, from Mridhadangi and Malek Khan, 35, from Munshir Chor.

Robbers broke into the home of Mridhadangi resident Asnar Fakir, who had recently purchased jewellery and accessories for his daughter’s wedding, said Charbhadrasan Police Station OC Ramprasad Bhakta.

“Locals heard screams and chased them. The robbers boarded a speedboat and shot at their pursuers as they fled, wounding two people. They were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where they were declared dead.”

Two others were also injured in the incident, said OC Ramprasad.

Another person was killed in a robbery in Sadarpur Upazila.

Malek Khan attempted to stop the robbers after they broke into his home in Munshir Chor, said Sadarpur Police Station OC Haroon Ar Rashid. He was then shot and killed.
