7 bodies recovered as Rohingya boat capsizes in Bay


PV Desk : At least seven bodies were recovered from several points of the Bay after boat carrying Rohingya people fleeing Myanmar capsized in the Bay of Bengal of Cox’s Bazar on early Tuesday (Oct 31).
Locals recovered the body of a minor from Moinardeil area of Ukhia upazila around 7:00am Tuesday. Moreover, two kids and an elderly woman were rescued to hospital in critical condition where on-duty physician declared them dead later.
On the other hand, locals recovered three bodies of minors from Maheshkhaliapara of Teknaf.
Ukhia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moniruzzaman told Banglanews a boat carrying almost 39 Rohingyas capsized on early Tuesday. Of them 23 were rescued to Rohingya refugee camp and nine are undergoing treatment at Ukhia Health Complex.
Teknaf model police station officer in-charge Main Uddin Khan confirmed the matter.
