Civil surgeon summoned over stitching womb with fetus inside


PV Desk : The High Court on Sunday (Oct 29) summoned three people including the Civil Surgeon of Comilla to appear before it for explaining the incident of stitching a woman’s womb after delivering one of her twin babies and leaving another inside.
An HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and AKM Jahirul Haque passed the order, taking some news reports into cognizance on the abrupt medical operation.

Comilla Civil Surgeon, owner of Life Hospital & Digital Diagnostic Center in Gouripur and Sheikh Hossain Ara, were asked to appear before the court on November 7 for explanation.
According to news reports, on September 18, Khadija Akter, wife of one expatriate Bangladeshi Awal Hossain from Algirchar village under Homna upazila, was admitted to Life Hospital & Digital Diagnostic Center.
She gave birth to a baby girl undergoing a C-Section (caesarean) operation on that day. Afterwards, relatives of Khadija informed the hospital that she is pregnant with twins.
