PV Desk : Minister for Housing and Public Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain today said that the government will construct rent-based 10,000 flats for slum dwellers.
He said this as the chief guest while inaugurating the three-day ‘Housing Finance Fair-2017’ organized by Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) with the help of Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB).
The three-day fair began at the Sonargaon Hotel in the capital and will continue till October 21.
The main objective of the fair is to create potential for domestic and foreign investment by bringing all institutions related to the housing sector under one roof.
Chairman of the BHBFC Sheikh Amin Uddin Ahmed, REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin Kajol and Vice President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, among others, spoke with Managing Director of BHBFC Debashis Chakraborty in the chair.
The minister said, “The slum dwellers are leading a very inhuman life. So, we will construct about 650 square feet flat for them. At least four to five people will reside there. The rent will be around Taka 8,000 and they will deposit the rents in phases through daily, weekly or monthly.”
