CJ went on leave willingly, not for any pressure: Inu

PV Desk : Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Saturday said Chief Justice SK Sinha took leave voluntarily and not forced to do so.

“The government has no jurisdiction to intervene in any verdict of the Chief Justice in any case and it never did so. All those claims about government’s interference in judiciary are just propaganda,” he said.
Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, said these while talking to reporters at the district circuit house after a dialogue with his party workers.
The BNP’s statement that the government is trying to control the judiciary by sending the Chief Justice on “forced leave” is incorrect, he said.
BNP does not believe in independent judiciary, said the Minister adding that they distribute sweets after a court delivers a verdict, while stage protests against verdict in another case simultaneously.
When asked about the BNP’s demand to abolish parliament before the national elections, Inu said that they are not sure whether to contest it or not.
