PV Desk : Shipping Minister Sahjahan Khan today urged the seafarers of National Maritime Institute (NMI) to work with professional efficiency so foreign shipping companies recruit more Bangladeshis in their vessels.
The minister was addressing as chief guest the passing out parade of 17th batch Pre Sea Ratings of NMI and 6th batch Madripur branch of NMI held at NMI parade field of Saltgola in the city this morning.
He said the Bangladeshis are more efficient and hard working, so the opportunities for them and demand of their jobs at international maritime markets are very high.
The minister said that realising the importance of shipping sector Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took initiatives to set up a few maritime institutes in the country.
He said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would make all efforts to build six more branches of modern NMI in the country.
