Tight security plans taken for Durga Puja: DMP


PV Desk : Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that police force will apply its fullest strength to ensure a trouble-free Durga Puja, the largest Hindu religious event for Bengali Hindus.
He made the assurance while addressing as chief guest in a meeting on Durga Puja-2017 arranged by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad at Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka on Friday (Sep 15).
Commissioner said, “It is your duty to celebrate festival, rituals and it’s the government’s duty to ensure your security. Bangladesh police force, with all of its capacity, will stand beside you during the celebration of Durga Puja.”
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina rigidly said practicing own religion is a person’s right but festival is for all. Anyone can participate here willingly. On behalf of the police force we want to say it clearly that Durga festival is not exclusive for a specific community. Its universal and a event of every citizen.”
