Shakib to be ACC goodwill ambassador

PV Sports Desk : World’s number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has become the goodwill ambassador of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to campaign against the corruption.
Shakib agreed to the offer on Monday (Sep 11) while attending a program in city’s ACC office with the invitation of ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmud.
Praising ACC’s work against corruption, Shakib said, “I want to be a part of any activities of ACC. We all want our country to be corruption free and that thus the whole world would recognize us as a ‘role model’ when we submit our passports to their immigration office.”
ACC chairman Iqbal Mahmud said corruption is a disgrace for our countrymen and ACC is working to free us from that discredit. The main job of this commission is to make people aware of corruption before it happens.
Mentioning that Bangladesh climbed up two steps in corruption index last year, he said it means that we are making some positive change here. Officials now are frightened to take bribery and many influential corrupted people have been seized by the commission.
Referring to Shakib, the ACC chairman said, “You, with your talent, have lifted up and dignified the country to a new height. You are also an icon to the millions of youths of Bangladesh. We are very proud of you and appointing you as the goodwill envoy of ACC to campaign against corruption.”
