RAB ends operation at Mirpur ‘militant’ den


PV Desk : Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has ended it’s operation at the suspected militant den in Darussalam area of Mirpur in Dhaka on Friday afternoon (Sep 8).
In a press briefing around 4:30pm, RAB media and legal wing director Mufti Mahmud Khan declared the ending of the 97-hour long operation that started in the wee hours of Tuesday (Sep 5).
Mufti Mahmud said the fourth and fifth floors of the building, in where the suspected dead militant Abdullah stayed, have been sealed off. Tenants of the other floors will be reinstated after our specialist team gives confirmation.
“Three types of 17 powerful bombs, 30 hand-grenades, 50 chemical bombs, 10kg gun powder and 3kg sulfur were recovered from the building so far. Moreover, huge amounts of bomb making electric circuits, instruments, one container of acid, 10 containers of inflammable element, over 100 sharp weapons and many important documents were found. ”
