Seven burned bodies found at Mirpur militant den

PV Desk : At least seven charred bodies were found inside the militant den at Darussalam area of Mirpur in the city on Wednesday afternoon (September 06).
Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed said this at a press conference after visiting the militant den.
He said that the bodies were completely burnt and it was not possible to identify whether they are male or female. But the law enforcers assume that the bodies belong to militant Abdullah, his two wives and two children, and two other accomplices.
Legal and media wing director of RAB Mufti Mahmud Khan said that they found burned bodies in a fourth floor of the building.
Earlier on Tuesday early hours (September 05), the law enforcers cordoned off the building suspecting it as a militant den. Later RAB announced that militants were hiding in the sixth floor of the building and were asked to surrender. But as of Tuesday midnight, no one has surrendered.
The operation resumed at about 9:30 am on Wednesday with bomb disposal units, dog squads and the assistance of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The suspected militants were believed to have been residing on the fourth floor of the six-storey building. The total number of inhabitants of that flat was believed to be around seven.
