PV Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said that her government has already started importing food grains from abroad to ensure food security so that the country faces no crisis of food.
“The aim of our government is that not a single person would remain hungry and homeless and all will get healthcare services and education,” she said after receiving cheques for donations to the PM’s Relief and Welfare Fund from various government and private organizations.
Sheikh Hasina said that directives are already there to build houses for those who have lost their homes due to river erosion during the flood. Besides, assistance is being provided to the flood victims to rebuild their earthen houses damaged in the deluge, she added.
The Prime Minister said whenever Awami League assumed office, it worked for strengthening the democratic process and democratic institutions alongside moving forward the country towards economic prosperity and development through fulfilling the basic needs of the people.
Sheikh Hasina said there were many barriers to Bangladesh’s journey towards development.”But braving all hurdles, we could continue in office through winning the 2014 national election. So, there was continuity in the flow of development and the people of Bangladesh are getting that benefits,” she said.
