Comparing Bangladesh to Pakistan won’t be tolerated: PM

PV Desk : Criticizing the Chief Justice heavily for his remarks, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she is not scared of any threat and will not tolerate the comparison between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The premier made the assertion while speaking at a rally recalling the martyrs of the gruesome grenade attack on Aug 21 in 2004 at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in city’s Farmgate area on Monday (Aug 21).

Hasina said “Everything can be tolerated, but we will not tolerate when a comparison is made with Pakistan.”
“Why bring out a comparison with Pakistan and its Prime Minister? There won’t be any use by giving me such a threat.”
During a hearing on gazette publication for judges’ code of conduct Sunday, the Chief Justice SK Sinha said the judiciary is having enough patience. Mentioning the removal of Pakistan’s Prime Minister by the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice said, “Pakistan Supreme Court has…..the prime minister. There was no criticism against it. We have kept our patient for long and we need more maturity.” The CJ was referring to the recent criticism against the judiciary for delivering a verdict that scrapped the 16th constitutional amendment.
