President urges people to remain alert on religious misinterpretation


PV Desk : President M Abdul Hamid today urged the people of all religions to remain alert about misinterpretation of religion that can create unrest in the society.

“The prime object of all religions is to ensure human welfare . . . remain alert so that none can create any unrest in the society through misinterpretation of religion,” he said while exchanging greetings with members of the Hindu community at a reception at Bangabhaban marking the Janmashtami.

Noting that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony, the president also called for fostering the existing brotherly and friendly relations together to gear up national progress.

President Hamid categorically said all have to ensure that no vested quarter can create any discrimination amongst us using religious sentiment.
