CCC to evict 16 illegal cattle markets in city


PV Report : Chittagong City Corporation has decided to evict 16 illegal cattle markets if these are nor removed within stipulated time as set by the administration.

The decision was reached at a meeting with councilor, police administration and cattle markets lessees held at auditirium of Nagar Bhavan on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Md. Jillur Rahman Chowdhury in a meeting of district law and order committee held on Thursday said no cattle market will be allowed on the roads on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

He said a section of unscrupulous traders is biased to set cattle market on the roads, but none will be spared now.

Chaired by City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin, the meeting was attended, among others, by councilor Haji Nurul Hoq, Saleh Ahmed Chowdhury, Morshed Akhter Chowdhury, Md. Mobarok Ali, Md. Azam and Chief Revenue Officer Dr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman.
