14 JMB men to serve 20-year jail term for 2005 blasts


PV Desk : A court here today handed down 20 years imprisonment to 14 operatives of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) for staging explosions at this central district town on August 17, 2005 coinciding with the outfit’s countrywide serial blasts on that day.

Court officials said First Additional District and Session Judge of Tangail Abul Mansur Mia issued the verdict as 10 of the convicts, who faced the trial in person, were brought to dock.

The judge, they said, simultaneously fined each convicts Taka 10,000 saying in default they would have to languish in jail for one year.
