Medical evidence found in Bogra rape, says police


PV Desk : Police on Thursday (August 4) said that they have found evidence of rape after doctors conducted a forensic test of the college girl who was allegedly violated by the suspended Sramik League leader Tufan Sarker in Bogra.

Earlier, on Monday (July 31), a medical board led by the forensic department head Professor KM Saiful Islam in Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital examined the girl.

On Tuesday (August 1), Bogra district Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Shyam Sundor Roy took deposition of the girl in a case filed over the incident.

On July 17, Tufan took the female student, who had just passed SSC exam, to his house in Bogra town assuring to arrange her admission into a local college. Tufan and his accomplice then raped the girl in the residence.

On July 28, the victim and her mother was severely tortured, given threats and even their heads were shaved at the residence of Bogra Municipality Councillor Marzia Hasan Rumki at Chaksutrapur area of the town, as part of cover up the incident.
