PV Report : Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Mahbubul Alam underscored the need for decentralization of investment as business at lower cost as well as facilities of export and import are feasible here.
He made the call while speaking at a seminar titled ‘presentation of activities and consultation on strategic planning’ hosted by Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Ltd. held at Bangabandhu Conference Hall at World Trade Center yesterday.
He said despite Chittagong being the hub of commercial activities, no headquarters of any financial institution is set up here till now. He called for setting up zonal office of BIFFL in Chittagong to facilitate financing in different potential sectors.
BIFFL CEO Formanul Islam said infrastructural development to achieve Vision-2021 & 2041 is imperative. BIFFL will provide fund to the development of power and natural resources, communication, economic and industrial zones, hotel and tourism, utility and environment management, fertilizer, social and industrial infrastructure, urban development and women entrepreneurs uplift, he added.
