US man convicted of murdering Bangladesh-origin cab driver

PV Desk : A US court has sentenced a man to 60 years in jail for murdering a cab driver of Bangladeshi origin from Stamford City in Connecticut in 2014. 

Convict Shota Mekoshvili, 32, from Georgia stabbed cab driver Mohammed Kamal Uddin, 47, was found murdered in a secluded neighbourhood in Stamford on Aug 27 that year.

His abandoned taxi, which had crashed into a wall, was found nearby.

Police said the Stamford taxi employee was stabbed up to 16 times in his torso.

Stamford police arrested Mekoshvili the same day.

Prosecutors said it was an attempted robbery that led to a deadly struggle.
