DMP boss assures proper action over Shahbagh clash

PV Desk : Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that strict action will be taken in connection with the Thursday’s clash between the students and the police in city’s Shahbagh.

The DMP chief said this when he was addressing a program at DMP Headquarters in the city on Saturday noon (July 22).

Asaduzzaman Mia said that the students blocked the road on July 20 denying the request of the police. Police with due modesty had requested the students for not blocking the road.

The incident will be investigated and proper action will be taken as a student was injured severely in the incident, he added.

The students on Saturday (July 22) also blocked a road in the city’s New Market area protesting the police attack on the students in Shahbagh.

The students brought out an agitation rally blocking the road, said New Market Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Atiqur Rahman.
