PV Desk : The government today awarded freedom fighter status to 58 more artistes of Liberation War time radio centre Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra for their outstanding contribution to the liberation war.
In line with decision taken at the 44th meeting of National Freedom Fighters’ Council, Liberation War Ministry issued a gazette notification awarding freedom fighter status to 58 artistes including host of popular radio programme ‘Charampatra’ MR Akhtar Mukul, filmmaker and actor Shubhash Dutta, singers Fakir Alamgir and Timir Nandi.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque told that if the gazette members or their successors apply, they can enjoy all facilities entitled to a freedom fighter.
