More poor patients to get cheaper dialysis at kidney institute


PV Desk : The National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology (NIKDU) will soon provide more poor patients with cheaper dialysis service, official at the Health Ministry said.

“The service will be provided under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) with Indian healthcare company Sandor Medicaids”, Additional Secretary of the Health Ministry M Habibur Rahman Khan told BSS.

Hyderabad-based Sandor Medicaids manufactures and markets high-tech biomedical and biotechnology products.

Khan said the company under PPP has already installed 15 dialysis machines at NIKDU and 40 in Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where poor patients are getting cheaper dialysis service.

“We are now awaiting 45 more machines to be installed at NIKDU,” the official said, adding that the managing director of Sandor Medicaids would come here soon to install the dialysis machines those already arrived in the capital city.
