PV Desk : Noted columnist, writer and poet Farhad Mazhar, who was rescued in Jessore 18 hours after he went missing on Monday, was released from the court with self-custody on Tuesday afternoon (July 04).
He was produced before the court of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Ahsan Habib to record the statement over the alleged incident of abduction.
Ahsan Habib recorded the statement of Farhad Mazhar under Section 164 and gave the order of release after a hearing in this regard.
Earlier, Farhad Mazhar filed a plea of releasing him with self-custody. His wife Farida Akhter was present in the court at the time.
