Apan Jewelers’ gold being taken to Bangladesh Bank


PV Desk : As owners of Apan Jewelers have failed to produce legal papers, some 13.5 mound gold and 427 grams diamond seized from their five outlets by Customs officials, are being taken to Bangladesh Bank.

On Sunday afternoon (June 4), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) joint director Mohammad Shafiur Rahman said customs officials have started the drive around 9:00am and completed around 1:20pm.

The jewelries were seized from five Apan Jewelers’ outlets (Gulshan DCC market branch, Gulshan Avenue Subastu square branch, Uttara branch, Simanto square branch and Mouchak branch) in presence of the owners and Bangladesh Jewelers association.
