No proof of two university girls rape found in forensic test


PV Desk : The Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) has not found any evidence of rape of two private university girls who claimed that they were raped at Raintree hotel in city’s Banani.

The doctors of the Forensic Department said this while talking to journalists at the DMCH on Thursday (June 01) after handing over the report to the police.

Earlier at noon, Ismat Ara Amy, sub-inspector of the Women Support and Investigation Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and the investigation officer of the case, received the forensic test report from the DMCH.

Dr Sohel Mahmud, chief of the medical board and DMCH’s forensic department, talked to the journalists.

He said they did not find any proof of rape after examining the bodies of the two girls. The evidence of rape in the dresses in DNA profiling has also not been found, he added.

Sohel Mahmud said that any rape victim needs to be examined within 72 hours of the incident. “The evidence is not found usually after the incident time crosses 40 days. Two months have already crossed since the incident of Banani. So, no sperm was found in their bodies,” he said.
